Easy ride to the Formula 1 Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix

Beat the jam and just enjoy the ride when you come to watch the 2010 Formula 1 Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) come this April 4.

Following a good response from the fans, SkyBus, has been named the official bus for the Grand Prix, while ERL will be the official rail link.

SkyBus, the famous red bus which issued shuttles to the Low Cost Carrier Terminal, will provide a special direct service to the Sepang International Circuit from various points in the Klang Valley.

Hundreds came to witness the second round of the “I Love F1” B-Boy dance crew audition at the Sunway College cafeteria on Monday 22 February.

While some are just there to see the moves performed by the dancers, some came to cheer on their friends who took up courage to audition in front of fellow students.

Following the unveiling of the Lotus Cosworth T127 on Friday night, Lotus Racing has this morning announced a strengthening of its senior management team. Team Principal Tony Fernandes has confirmed today that two of the team’s shareholders, S M Nasarudin and Dato’ Kamarudin Meranun, will be joining Tony as Deputy Team Principals. Lotus Racing today unveiled its 2010 challenger, the Lotus Cosworth T127, at a glittering event in London’s Royal Horticultural Hall. Team Principal Tony Fernandes was joined on stage by Chief Technical Officer Mike Gascoyne and drivers Jarno Trulli, Heikki Kovalainen and Fairuz Fauzy to take the wraps off the car in front of a 500 strong live audience.

unveiled the new silver and green colour scheme with which they will

The changes for 2010 are perhaps most striking from overhead. As a result of the ban on refuelling, the fuel tank (4) will be longer and wider. The wheelbase is likely to be about 15 cm longer than in '09 to accommodate this larger tank (6), though teams could opt to move the driver forward slightly (3) or build shorter gearboxes (5) to minimise this increase. At the front, the narrower front tyres (2) will change the handling characteristics and weight distribution of the car, while the driver has control of the front wing flap angle (1) from the cockpit.

Button and Brawn named in New Year’s Honours list

The achievements of Britain’s Jenson Button and former team boss Ross Brawn have been recognised by their country after both were named in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list.

Button, the reigning Formula One drivers’ champion, has been appointed an MBE (Member of the British Empire), while Brawn, who led his Brawn GP team to the 2009 title double, becomes an OBE (Officer of the British Empire).

Petronas becomes Mercedes title sponsor

Malaysian oil and gas company Petronas has confirmed a long-term title sponsorship deal with the Mercedes Grand Prix team, just says after saying that it would not be involved in Formula 1 as a team sponsor next season.

Having been associated for over a decade with the Sauber - later BMW - team, Petronas explained last week that it would not continue in F1 as a team sponsor next year but remain only as title sponsor for the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Sepang International Circuit Presents Cheque for Charity 10 Days of Charity

Sepang International Circuit (SIC) passed a cheque worth RM20,000 to the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, fulfilling the company’s pledge done in conjunction with the recent Shell Advance Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix 2009.

The event marked as the most successful MotoGP race held in Malaysia with the highest attendance of 102,255 fans over the three day period (23rd to 25th October) since 1991.

The cheque was presented by SIC CEO Razlan Razali to the Head of Corporate Communication, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Thomas Rainor Ralon.

Raikkonen hoping to race on - with the right team

It’s not often that a recent race winner and world champion ends a season without a confirmed seat for the following year, but that is just the situation that 2009 Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen is facing.

With Fernando Alonso joining the Italian team to partner Felipe Massa in 2010, Raikkonen is still to find a new cockpit in which to ply his trade. However, the Finn, who is a season shy of his 10-year anniversary in Formula One racing, doesn’t seem too anxious about his future and is instead determined to find the right drive.
