07 October 2010, BY Sepang International Circuit
The special promotional RM10 ticket for the 2010 Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix has received good response from the fans and looked set to be a sold-out.
“The tickets are going fast … fans intending to buy them should do so quickly. We are closing the sale of these tickets tomorrow,” says Sepang International Circuit Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Razlan Ahmad Razali.
To be seated at Hillstand B, the decision to open the area was a last minute one after seats at Grandstand F, which was priced at RM30, was sold out. The other seats are the Main Grandstand and the K Grandstand, which is selling at RM100 and RM60 respectively.
Razlan added that the overall sale for tickets was also good; adding that he was confident that this year’s Race Day attendance to pass last year’s record of 59,620 spectators.
“I would also like to remind fans that we are opening the Main Grandstand for free entry tomorrow. There’s no charge and I would like to make an open invitation to all Malaysians to take this opportunity and to see this world class event live at the circuit tomorrow.
“Of course, we will also have the free Kids Pit walkabout where children below 12 years old can come to the pitlane and get a close look at the bikes and probably see some of the riders as well. It’s a good opportunity to inspire the young.
“Parents can join them as well; but they would need to have the race tickets,” said Razlan, adding that those interested should come early and gather at the entrance of Tunnel 2 at the Mall Area.
Slotted as Round 15 of an 18-leg MotoGP world championship this season, the 2010 Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix will see the battle for the world crown climbing its climax with Jorge Lorenzo and Toni Elias on track to seal their overall title in Sepang.
For Friday, fans can catch the first official free practice for the MotoGP, Moto2 and 125cc classes as well as qualifying for the support races from the Malaysian Super Series.
