BRNO CIRCUIT, CZECH REPUBLIC, AUGUST 15, 2010: The poor weather conditions at the Brno Circuit over the race weekend proved to be a challenge for MotoGP riders, including Malaysian 125cc MotoGP rider, Mohd Zulfahmi Khairuddin.

But it did not deter Zulfahmi in his quest to earn yet another point, as he managed to finish in the 15th position in the race, finishing at 44 minutes, 44.793 seconds.

On Saturday, the Czech Republic’s Cardion AB Grand Prix free-practice session was delayed by 30 minutes due to bad weather conditions, as a heavy fog had descended on the circuit following an overnight thunderstorm. The riders also had to contend with damp patches lingering on the track at the start of the session.

In the subsequent qualifying round, Zulfahmi, Team AirAsia-Sepang International Circuit rider qualified in the 23rd position, clearly a little cautious in adjusting to the wet tracks.

The track condition did not improve by much at the race today, as the riders had to adjust their rides to the wet-weather condition tyres.

“I had to be a little more careful on the tracks today. I am very thankful that the team had prepared and delivered an awesome motorbike for the race today, as they had done for every race.
I am just really happy that I managed to finish the race in the top 20 position and score yet another point, which was my target for this race.

“During the qualifying round yesterday, I tried to push the bike to its limit but I had a little problem with my suspension. But as usual the team had done their best with the bike, and I am glad I managed to qualify for the race,” he said.

Sepang International Circuit chief executive officer Razlan Razali said he is immensely proud of the young rider’s performance at the track today.

“Despite the wet conditions at the track, he managed to finish the race in the 15th position and had earned himself yet another point for in the world championship.

“I am glad that he had triumphed despite the adverse conditions at the track. This proves that he has definitely improved on his performance, and he is learning to adjust himself to the pressures he encounters in every race,” said Razlan.
